For nearly 80 years, the people of First Baptist Church of Troy have been striving to keep the Lord first in every aspect of ministry and service.
The church’s rich history dates back to September 22, 1931, when our founding group met under the name North Detroit Gospel Tabernacle. The church became North Detroit Baptist just a few years later, and then, finally, First Baptist Church of Troy when we moved to our current location in the 1950s.
Pastor Mike Harding, who has been at First Baptist since 1985, is the sixth man to lead the church. Each pastor has brought particular strengths, invigorating the body’s commitment to areas such as education, personal evangelism, and worldwide outreach.
Today, we number about 600 in Sunday morning services. We are committed to growth in the Gospel and to loving others as Christ loves us
