Pastor Dave Huffstutler
Senior Pastor

Huffstutler 01

Pastor David Huffstutler grew up in a Christian home and was saved at thirteen years old after a Friday night service at a Christian camp. Once he started consistently living for the Lord as a freshman in college, he had no other desire than to be in the ministry and preach the Word of God.

Dave served as a pastoral intern at our church for a summer during college and returned as a long-term pastoral assistant in 2006. The church trained him, put him through seminary, and ordained him to pastoral ministry in November of 2012. He accepted the call to be the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois in the summer of 2013. During his time in Rockford, he also served as a voluntary police and fire chaplain for four years. After twelve years, he accepted the call to return to our church to be our senior pastor in the summer of 2025.

Burden: “I simply hope to be a God-honoring Christian, a faithful husband, and a good father. As a pastor, I pray that my time in study and prayer will be evident in person and in my preaching as I lead our church in the Great Commission. I also pray that the Lord will allow our church to train men to do the same.”

Years in Ministry: 2006 to present

Family: Dave has been married to Holly since 2007. She grew up at our church and was a nurse for several years, helping Dave through school, and is now a homemaker, hostess, and Dave’s greatest helper in ministry. She has a nursing degree from Bob Jones University and an M. A. in Biblical Ministries from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Dave and Holly have four wonderful children, a son and three daughters.

Pastor Michael Harding
Pastor Emeritus

Harding01

Pastor Mike Harding was saved as an eight-year old boy through the bus ministry of Marquette Manor Baptist Church in Chicago and accepted the call to preach at 11. Mike attended Bob Jones University in 1974, and after graduation from BJU, Mike served as youth pastor for six years at Oak Forest Baptist Temple and then went on to accept the call to pastor First Baptist Church of Troy in 1985. Pastor Harding serves on the boards for the Gospel Fellowship Association and Bob Jones University.

Burden: “My greatest concern for our families is that they would continue to develop deep theological convictions and personal values that reflect a consistent commitment to the principles of Scripture in order to positively impact their children and community with the Gospel of Christ. Our post-Christian culture in America has increasingly become more militant in its paganism. The influence of this culture upon our families is pervasive. More than ever there must be a commitment to personal Bible reading, prayer, godly discipline, faithfulness to the NT church, and separation unto God. My task as pastor is to help our families deepen their commitment to Christ, the Bible, and the NT church through the pulpit and teaching ministries of our church, and through the disciple-making ministries of Bethany Christian School, Adult Bible Fellowship, Family Bible Institute, Sunday School, and Expedition clubs.”

Training:

  • Bob Jones University: B.A. Bible
  • Bob Jones University: M.A. Bible
  • Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary: M. Div.
  • Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary: Th.M.
  • Maranatha Baptist Bible College: Honorary Doctor of Divinity (1995)

Years in Ministry: 1979 to present

Family: Mike has been married to his wonderful wife and companion in ministry, Jennifer, for over 45 years. They have four married adult children: one son, Luke, and three daughters, Rebecca, Rachel, and Maaike. They also have several grandchildren.
